Caitlin is JAEL's Editor in Chief. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, working out, and spending time with family. Caitlin was born and raised in Eastern Kentucky, but now calls Louisville home. She attended the University of Louisville College of Business for her undergraduate career, with a focus on marketing and management strategy. She is passionate about environmental issues stemming from coal extraction that impact rural Kentucky towns.
As JAEL’s Executive Editor, Ethan's studies focus on the the policy applications of ecological and environmental governance. He hails from Byrdstown, Tennessee, and is a graduate of Berea College, in Berea, Kentucky, where he obtained his Bachelor’s degree in History and Asian Studies. Ethan has made a home in Louisville with his husband, Taylor, and their two trusty canine companions, Frida the feisty and Theodore the timid.
Chad was born and raised in Louisville. He attended undergrad at the University of Louisville, where he studied Justice Administration. As a proud father of three kids—Azalynn, Naley, and Banner—Chad and his wife, Abbie, are passionate about protecting the environment for future generations. After law school, Chad plans to practice union-side labor law and plaintiff-side employment law. When not studying or working, Chad enjoys time with his family and plays golf with his dad.
Nicola is our Development Editor. Nicola is a graduate of Rutgers University and is a New Jersey native. She has two cats who are also New Jersey natives. Nicola's work experience in the environmental industry, particularly with asbestos regulations and indoor air quality, prompted her pursuit of a law degree. In her free time, she enjoys hiking and singing.
